Dr. Khan is one of the world’s leading experts in the complex relationship between globalization, air travel and the worldwide spread of infectious diseases. Inspired by the 2003 SARS epidemic in Toronto, Dr. Khan has focused his research on studying the global airline transportation network as a “living” conduit for the international spread of emerging and reemerging pathogens.  You may recognize him from his frequent appearances on the CBC and BBC.

Dr. Khan is the founder of Blue Dot, a web-based application that he developed to anticipate how infectious diseases can spread in an increasingly interconnected world.
