Program highlights:
This post-graduate program offers organized training in various areas of hospital
pharmacy. Areas of special interest include provision of pharmaceutical care
in various patient-care settings, critical appraisal, administration and education.
Residents have the opportunity to complete rotations at the Hamilton Health Sciences
Corporation for elective rotations (as per preceptor availability).
Required Rotations:
- Distribution (6 weeks)
- Critical Appraisal (5 weeks)
- General Medicine (4 weeks)
- Administration (2 weeks)
- Drug Information (1-3 weeks)
- Project (approximately 8-10 weeks throughout the year)
Elective Rotations:
Elective rotations are usually
3-4 weeks in duration, based on resident’s
preference and number of electives chosen
- Nephrology/Renal Transplant
- Psychiatry
- Respirology
- Intensive Care (Adult)
- Infectious disease
Residents may also have the opportunity to complete rotations at the Hamilton
Health Sciences
Corporation (eg. Cardiology, NICU, Pediatrics, Hematology, Oncology).
Minimum required credentials: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
