ChairpersonBarb Evans, BSP ACPR MSc FCSHPClinical Manager
Barb Evans is a Clinical Manager at the Saskatoon Health Region. She is responsible for clinical pharmacy services in the areas of adult medicine, oncology, and emergency. She has been the Coordinator for the Saskatoon Health Region’s Pharmacy Residency Program since 1999 and oversees the Region’s Structured Practice Experiences Program for third and fourth year pharmacy students. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor with the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan and an Associate Member of the Department of Pharmacology, College of Medicine. Barb completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan followed by a Hospital Pharmacy Residency at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. She later completed a Master of Science degree in Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan and is a fellow with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Barb has been actively involved with volunteer professional organizations including the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, at a provincial and national level. She is involved in practice-based research and many safety initiatives including medication reconciliation. Past-ChairpersonDorothy George, BSC Pharm, ACPRPharmacy Patient Care Manager
Dorothy George graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Alberta, and then completed a hospital pharmacy residency at the Calgary General Hospital. She has held a number of positions in the pharmacy department, including various staff positions, working in oncology, medicine, and cardiology, In the last 15 years she was manager in the pharmacy overseeing regional pharmacy practice in the critical care, cardiac sciences, renal and transplant programs for several years before changing focus back to coordinating the pharmacist education and student/ resident programs for the 5 sites in urban Calgary. She was also very involved in the development and implementation of the electronic health record/ physician order entry system. She coordinated the Calgary Residency program for over 20 years. Since the creation of the Alberta Health Services as a Provincial Health Authority, Dorothy is now Director of all Residency Programs in Alberta, coordinates the Pharmacy Technical staff practice development, and helps coordinate all pharmacy education programs. Allan Mills graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at the University of British Columbia in 1990 and subsequently completed a hospital residency at Shaughnessy Hospital in 1991. After working in general medicine, ICU and NICU, he then attended the University of Toronto obtaining his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at in 1998. After graduation he became the Clinical Coordinator for Baycrest Hospital and a board certified Geriatric Pharmacist in 2001. During this time he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, teaching therapeutics, a patient assessment course and coordinating the Doctor of Pharmacy clinical placements. In 2003 he joined Trillium Health Centre as the Clinical Manager, becoming the Director in 2005. Trillium established a residency program during this time and in 2010 Allan became the shared director of pharmacy services for Trillium Health Centre and the Credit Valley Hospital. He is a Fellow with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists and a past president of the CSHP - Ontario Branch. Board MembersPeter Loewen, B.Sc.(Pharm), ACPR, Pharm.D., FCSHPCoordinator, Pharmacy Practice Residency Program
Peter Loewen is Coordinator of the LMPS Pharmacy Practice Residency Program, Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services and has been a Pharmacotherapeutic Specialist in inpatient general medicine for 15 years. He is also an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the University of British Columbia. Peter graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from UBC and completed a hospital pharmacy residency program at BC’s Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Vancouver. Thereafter he completed his Pharm.D. at UBC. He has held positions as a clinical coordinator, regional research and education coordinator, is Chair of the UBC Clinical Research Ethics board, Vice-chair of the BC Drug Benefits Council, and Chair of the BC Drug Review Resource Committee. His clinical interests and research focus on cardiovascular risk reduction, methods of measuring the quality of drug therapy and interventions to improve it, and evidence-based drug therapy. Dr. Loewen teaches drug therapy at the undergraduate and graduate levels in didactic and experiential settings. He maintains a continuous schedule of speaking at local, national, and international conferences publishes regularly in the peer-reviewed literature and serves as a reviewer for several journals. Lauza Saulnier , BSc Pharm, ACPR Regional Director, Research and Patient Safety Services
Lauza Saulnier is the Regional Director of Research and Patient Safety Services at the Regional Health Authority B in New Brunswick. Her responsibilities include infection prevention and control, patient safety and research. Lauza has held a number of clinical, education, and administrative positions in healthcare including Staff Pharmacist and Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator, Pharmacy Services. She has been responsible for pharmacy residency training at The Moncton Hospital for 13 years as Residency Coordinator and Residency Program Director. From 2004 until March 2009, Lauza was the Chief of Pharmacy Services at South-East Regional Health Authority. Lauza graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University and completed a hospital pharmacy residency program at Camp Hill Hospital in affiliation with Dalhousie University in Halifax. Lauza has been actively involved in volunteer professional activities throughout her career, holding executive positions at provincial and national levels of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Lauza is involved in practice-based research and patient safety initiatives including medication reconciliation. Lalitha Raman-Wilms, BScPhm, ACPR, PharmD, FCSHPDirector, Division of Pharmacy Practice Primary Care Pharmacist
Lalitha Raman-Wilms completed both her Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Pharmacy degrees at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. After her BScPhm, she undertook a pharmacy residency at McMaster Medical Centre in Hamilton. Currently, in addition to her administrative functions at the Faculty, she coordinates and teaches the Pharmaceutical Care Therapeutics courses in the undergraduate program. In 2007-8, as Project Leader, Lalitha led the development of a new pharmacy curriculum in Toronto. Her other Faculty involvement includes teaching in the PharmD program, faculty advisor for the International Health Program, and a faculty residency liaison. In addition, she practices in a primary care clinic, providing pharmaceutical care to geriatric patients. Her previous work experience has primarily been in hospitals, with community pharmacy experience. Lalitha has been actively involved in professional associations, including CSHP (as a national education committee member), PEBC, and the Ontario College of Pharmacists. She is currently an associate editor for the Canadian Journal of Hospital Pharmacy. Colette Raymond, BScPharm, PharmD, MSc, ACPRStaff Development / Practice Evaluation Pharmacist, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
Dr. Colette Raymond completed a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy at the University of Alberta, a Hospital Pharmacy Residency at the Ottawa Hospital, and a postgraduate Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of British Columbia. She completed a master’s degree in epidemiology at the University of Manitoba. Colette is the Staff Development and Practice Evaluation Pharmacist for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, as well as the coordinator internal for the WRHA Pharmacy Practice Residency Program. She is a research scientist at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy. Colette is an active member of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, and has served on numerous Branch and National Committees, including the Advocacy Committee and Education Services Committee. Her clinical practice is in the Renal Health Clinic at the Manitoba Renal Program. Moira Wilson, BScPharmRegional Director, Pharmacy Services
Moira Wilson is the Region Director of Pharmacy Services for Horizon Health Network in New Brunswick. Her responsibilities include planning, leading, developing, organizing, coordinating, overseeing and evaluating the delivery of acute care and ambulatory pharmacy services in the health region. Moira has held a number of clinical and administrative positions in healthcare including Staff Pharmacist, Assistant Director and later Director of Pharmacy at the Saint John Regional Hospital and Director of Pharmacy for the former Saint John zone. Moira has been Director of the Residency Program at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the past eleven years and for the Moncton Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program for the past two years. Moira graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University and is an active member of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists serving as the Fundraising Coordinator for the N.B. Branch of CSHP, Director of Finance for CSHP (2004-2009), Chair of the Bylaws Committee (2008-present) and as a member of the Nominations Committee (2009-present).
