RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Vacation/Holiday Leave: 10 working days

Education/Conference Leave: Assistance to a maximum grant amount – negotiated each year

Program highlights: Residents complete various rotations in the 4 urban hospitals within the City of Calgary. This multi-site program creates the opportunity to learn from a number of practitioners in a variety of settings. Rotation schedules can be adjusted to accommodate preceptor availability and resident choices. Rotations outside of Calgary may be arranged to accommodate the resident's interests

Required Rotations:

Mandatory rotations include drug information, practice management, distribution, teaching, cardiology , general medicine, critical care, and pediatrics. The residents also complete a major project.

Elective Rotations:

The residents may choose 3 optional rotations from the following list (available in Calgary), or negotiate from an external site. All are 3 weeks.

Forensic Psychiatry
Psychiatry (adult or adolescent)
Transplant/Nephrology
Oncology
Ambulatory care
Geriatrics
HIV
Palliative care
Infectious disease
Neonatal Intensive Care
Internal Medicine
Vascular surgery

Minimum required credentials: Entry to practice Pharmacy Professional Degree (eg BSC, BSP, Pharm D), and eligible for the Clinical register of the Alberta College of Pharmacists
