Anne Hiltz Vacation/holiday leave: 2 weeks Education/conference leave: Residents have an opportunity to attend one conference per year funded by the department Program highlights: Offered in affiliation with College of Pharmacy , Dalhousie University . Program provides the resident with a broad range of experiences in the field of pharmacy. Required Rotations: Compulsory rotations include Drug Distribution (including IVAD and TPN) – 3 to 4 weeks depending upon Prior Learning Assessment in this area, Drug Information – 4 weeks, General Medicine-4 weeks, Infectious Diseases-4 weeks, Critical Care- 4weeks, Cardiology-4 weeks, Administration - 2 weeks, Education – residents supervise one 4 th year pharmacy clerkship student, provide a lecture to 2 nd year pharmacy students and present a continuing education session to community pharmacists. Elective Rotations:The resident may also chose from a variety of elective rotations, including Psychiatry, Geriatrics, Long-Term Care, Multi-organ Transplant, Haematology/Oncology, Drug Use Evaluation, Outpatient Oncology, Neurology and Anticoagulation Clinic. Residents may also be given the opportunity to attend outside rotations to pharmacy departments in other hospitals (e.g., pediatrics). Minimum required credentials: Canadian citizens or landed immigrants who have graduated from a recognized College of Pharmacy. Strong motivation to attain high level of competency in pharmacy practice. Successful applicant must obtain PEBC certificate and become licensed early in Program.
