About our panellists:

Wilson Cheng 
Wilson Cheng is currently serving as the Director of the Pharmacy at the University of Alberta Hospital, Stollery Children’s Hospital, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, and Kaye Edmonton Clinic.  In his current role, Wilson oversaw the implementation of Epic at the University of Alberta Hospital Pharmacy, 24 hours order verification and dispensing.

Wilson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Alberta.  Wilson holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Alberta, where his research focused on targeted drug delivery for cancer treatment.  Before taking on leadership roles, Wilson was a clinical pharmacist in pediatric oncology in the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

Michael Charron 
Michael Charron is the Clinical and Research Manager for Pharmacy Services at Victoria Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre.  

For the first 8 years of his career, Michael worked in a hybrid role supporting overnight drug distribution activities while also supporting the inpatient Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology teams as a clinical pharmacist. 

Ariane Blanc
Ariane Blanc is a bilingual hospital pharmacy leader with more than 20 years of extensive academic, professional, research and mentorship experience in adult and pediatric hospitals and pharmacy community settings in Ottawa, Montreal and Paris (France). She is the Director of Pharmacy and Chief Clinical Pharmacist at the CHEO, research investigator at the CHEO Research Institute and adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa School of Pharmaceutical Science. She also leads the NAPRA Regional Shared Service Program, which provides a specialized service to 9 East Ontario Health hospitals. She is a preceptor for International and National pharmacy students. 
 
In 2022, Ariane founded, and has been chairing the Canadian Pediatric of Hospital Pharmacy Leaders group (CPHPL). She volunteers at the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP) – Ontario Branch, as the President Elect (Vision Portfolio) since December 2023 and was the Education Committee co-chair from 2021 to 2023. She has led the CSHP-OB hospital pharmacy recruitment and retention working group and participated in the mentorship program. 

Suzanne Atkinson (Panel Moderator)
Suzanne is the assistant-director of the pharmacy department at CHU Sainte-Justine, a mother and child hospital. Her work is focused on medication-use process, medication and patient safety and research on pharmacy practice.
