Summary: What is leadership in pharmacy, why should we care, and how do we embrace and cultivate it across the profession? A panel discussion with three hospital pharmacy leaders in Ontario - Trent Fookes, Emily Musing, and Erika MacDonald – will provide insights into these important questions.
This session aims to achieve the following learning objectives for pharmacists and pharmacy technician learners:
— Understand what leadership means in today's workplace and workplace culture.
— Develop curiosity in one’s leadership potential, in leadership roles, and in what leadership could look like in their current positions.
— Explore the current state of leadership and understand why it is important that leadership in pharmacy be cultivated from within the profession.
— Discuss common factors and concerns contributing to hesitancy in taking on leadership roles.
— Explore why pharmacy professionals would want to consider leadership as a career path.
