London Health Sciences Centre's (LHSC) Pharmacy Services operates as a single department across all our locations:
- University Hospital
- Victoria Hospital
- London Regional Cancer Program
- Children's Hospital
- Prescription Centres

Clinical pharmacists provide direct patient care throughout the institution. These practitioners are active, integral members of interdisciplinary teams providing services including:
- Medication history documentation and assistance with medication reconciliation drug selection
- Pharmacokinetic assessment and drug dosing
- Drug information
- Patient medication counseling and education
- Other patient-focused services to optimize drug therapy outcomes
Position Summary
Non-Union
The Pharmacist is responsible for the safe and effective use of medications for patients admitted to London Health Sciences Centre. In meeting this responsibility, the Pharmacist reviews and monitors drug therapy; interacts with patients, physicians, nurses and other allied health professionals to resolve drug related problems; and counsels and educates patients regarding drug therapy. Pharmacists also participate in the training and preceptorship of undergraduate and resident Pharmacist students.

- Orthopaedic surgery and Trauma/Psychiatry (temporary)
- Critical care
- Nephrology (temporary)
- General Surgery
- Paediatric Emergency Department
- Orthopaedic surgery
- Gynecology/Gyne-Oncology/Obstetrics
- Subacute Medicine (part-time)
- Paediatric Nephrology/ Renal Transplant/GI/Pain Clinic and Complex Care
- Overnight distribution
Clinical assignments may change based on operational needs, at the discretion of the pharmacy manager
Regular Full-Time, and Regular Part-Time opportunities available
Rate of Pay: $44.29 per hour - $55.37 per hour
Hours of Work: 24/7 availability required
- Honours Baccalaureate Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD or equivalent academic credential from an accredited School of Pharmacy or successful completion of the International Pharmacy Graduate Program
- Registered as an ‘A’ Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists and Professional Liability Insurance as prescribed by the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Hospital pharmacy residency certificate (ACPR) preferred
- Proficiency in Cerner PharmNet and Powerchart System
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, patients and other health care professionals
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills in a variety of situations
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to provide principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a health review which includes providing vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella(Chicken Pox). In addition candidates will need to provide documentation of Tuberculosis Skin testing and a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines).
