Access to Pharmacist Services for First Nations and Inuit Persons Petition – Learn More Here

Jaris P. Swidrovich, a member of CSHP, has created a petition to address the discrepancy in some of the professional services offered by pharmacists in Canada not currently available to First Nations and recognized Inuit persons with health insurance through Indigenous Services Canada.

While […] First Nations and Inuit persons would have to pay out of pocket – or not receive the service at all – […] other Canadians receive such services for free because the provincial health systems pay for it. […] This is because health is a provincial jurisdiction for Canadians but is a federal jurisdiction for First Nations and Inuit persons.

CSHP will be forming a task force to determine how to meet pertinent Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. The call for a CSHP member to chair the Task Force will be issued before May.
