What is Accreditation?
Accreditation has 2 meanings, as it pertains to pharmacy residency programs:
- it is a process by which a program is assessed against the CPRB Accreditation Standards
- it is a certification that is awarded to a program that meets the CPRB Accreditation Standards
Applying for accreditation of pharmacy residency programs is a voluntary decision made by the program and its organization.
The CPRB Accreditation Standards outline the basic criteria used in evaluating educational programs in organizations applying for accreditation by the CPRB. There are separate sets of standards for each type of residency program, general (year 1) and advanced (year 2).
A list of the accredited programs is found here.
