Volunteering

Volunteer recognition

CSHP would like to thank the many volunteers who help the Society achieve its goals and objectives.

Your hard work and dedication makes it possible for CSHP to run programs like the Professional Practice Conference (PPC), the Pharmacy Specialty Networks (PSNs), and initiatives such as Excellence in Hospital Pharmacy and CSHP 2015. The work of the Board, committees, and task forces are an integral part of the association. Your contributions aid in the advancement of safe, effective medication use and patient care in hospitals and related health care settings.

Reasons to volunteer

Reason #1: You care about your patients and your profession.

Volunteering through the Society is a way for you to give back to the profession and contribute to changes that will benefit the people you serve. You can help advance pharmacy practice and develop resources for current and future practitioners, as the pioneers before us did to establish the reputation of the profession today.

Reason #2: Volunteering connects you to a team of other equally committed, friendly and passionate volunteers.

Networking with other leaders in the profession, often from other regions in Canada, can help advance or guide your career.

Reason #3: There is a role tailored for you.

CSHP offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, with different workloads, timelines and durations. Some volunteers have the support of their employers and can schedule their work around their volunteerism. And, many of our volunteering opportunities do not require extensive travel, if any.

Reason #4: It's a fun way to learn and develop your skills.

Reason #5: Volunteering provides opportunities to learn about current issues (nationally and locally) and discover new areas of interest - while meeting new people! Volunteering is rewarding!

Reason #6: Everybody has something to offer through volunteering.

You can volunteer at any age or stage of your career, and with any level of experience. Sharing your vision of pharmacy, life experiences, and knowledge with other professionals helps shape the future.

Reason #7: Volunteers are supported by CSHP staff and other volunteers.

Tools and mentorship and communication are provided to volunteers who are stepping into new roles within the Society. The Society strives to make your volunteer experience enjoyable and is always open to feedback from you.

Reason #8: CSHP takes pride in its volunteers.

Volunteers are valued and recognized for the time, talent, and commitment they freely give to the Society.
