About the Award
The CSHP Year 2 Advanced Pharmacy Practice Residency Award recognizes graduates of
year 2 residency programs whose major projects demonstrate significant innovation, practical application, and/or development in pharmacy practice.
Two awards of $1,000 each are granted annually, and the program is administered by the National Awards Committee.
Award Criteria
To be eligible, each candidate must:
- Be a current member of CSHP and have also maintained membership during the year 2 residency.
- Complete a CPRB-accredited (or accreditation-pending) advanced (Year 2) hospital pharmacy residency program during the 2025 calendar year. For the 2026 award, graduates from the 2024-2025 residency cycle are eligible.
Award Details
Award submissions will be adjudicated by the National Awards Committee. Assessment will be based solely on the information provided. In the event of a peer-nomination, additional details may be requested by the Awards Committee.
- Two awards, each valued at $1000, will be given annually.
- Submissions will be accepted from January 1 - March 31 (23:59 Pacific Time)
- Winners will be contacted in May
- Winners will be announced via email, on the CSHP website, on social media, and in the CSHP Interactions newsletter
Submission Requirements
- The residency project manuscript must follow the Canadian Journal of Hospital Pharmacy (CJHP) Author Guidelines for Original Research. These guidelines cover structure, style, and referencing. The manuscript should not exceed 3,000 words, excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures. If the CJHP guidelines are not adhered to, the submission may be considered ineligible.
- Applicants must submit two electronic copies of the manuscript – blinded and unblinded. The blinded version must not include any marks identifying the author or hospital where the project was completed. The unblinded version includes full author and institutional details. For guidance on preparing the blinded version, please refer to the Blinding for Peer Review policy.
