Workshop: A Prescription for Quality Improvement
Are you a pharmacy leader looking to improve cost efficiencies to manage an ever-growing drug budget and don’t know where to start? Quality Improvement (QI) projects in hospital pharmacy play an important role in enhancing patient safety and satisfaction, improving operational efficiencies, monitoring regulatory compliance, and realizing institutional cost savings with environmental co-benefits.  In this workshop, you will be introduced to foundational QI concepts and apply the principles to a workshop case study. Target Audience:  Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians seeking to develop their knowledge and skills in healthcare quality improvement.

Workshop: Redefining Hypertension
The new Hypertension Canada guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension in adult primary care aims to provide clinicians with streamlined, evidence-based recommendations for diagnosing and managing hypertension in Canadian primary care, addressing declining control rates and improving population-level outcomes. In this clinical workshop, the new recommendations in the 2025 Hypertension in Canada guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension in adult primary care will be reviewed and will highlight the changes from the 2020 guidelines. Participants will then be able to apply the recommendations to patient cases and experience practical hands-on BP assessments and counselling.
