Mid-Term Board Meeting Update: What’s Ahead for Members

April 15, 2026

Your CSHP National Board recently met—and there’s lots to be proud of. From leadership updates to exciting new initiatives, here’s a snapshot of what’s happening and what’s ahead for members across Canada.

🌟 Leadership & Appointments

The Board welcomed several new leaders to ensure strong governance and editorial excellence:
  • Nadine Grimm joins as Nova Scotia Branch Delegate through October 2028
  • Mike LeBlanc will be presented to the membership at the AGM in the Fall to be the next President-Elect
  • Heather Naylor, Sean Gorman, and Tammy Bungard are appointed Associate Editors for CJHP

Thank you to all who continue to serve and support our profession.

🧭 Strengthening Governance

The Board took part in a focused governance and bylaws learning session, reaffirming strong board culture while identifying opportunities to simplify and strengthen CSHP’s longterm sustainability.

💰 Financial Planning with an Eye to the Future

While CSHP is projecting a deficit this year—largely due to strategic investments like the CEO search and expanded professional practice support—the Board approved a forwardlooking budget that keeps reserves healthy and sets the organization on track to return to balance by FY2027/28.

💳 Membership & Fees

  • AutoPay is on track for the 2026–27 renewal cycle, making membership easier than ever.
  • National membership fees will increase to $415 in 2026–27—the first adjustment since 2021—reflecting inflation. Student and technician fees will remain unchanged.

🤝 Stronger Branch Connections

CSHP National is deepening collaboration through one-on-one branch meetings and continued rollout of the Microsoft 365 Branch Project, now underway or under consideration across multiple provinces.

🚀 Advancing Professional Practice

Exciting progress continues:

  • The CAR T-Cell program launches in April
  • Planning begins for an Opioid Stewardship credential
  • A national advocacy town hall is coming
  • A new task force will tackle challenges facing pharmacy residency programs

Thank you for being part of a thriving, forward-looking CSHP community—we’re excited about what’s ahead!
