Announcement: Appointment of New Editor-in-Chief

The Canadian Society of Healthcare-Systems Pharmacy is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lauren C. Bresee, BScPharm, MSc, PhD, ACPR, as Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Hospital Pharmacy (CJHP).
Dr. Bresee brings extensive experience in pharmacy practice research, pharmacoepidemiology, and health system policy, along with a longstanding commitment to the Journal. She has served as an Associate Editor on the CJHP Editorial Board since 2017, providing thoughtful editorial leadership in support of the Journal’s mission to advance hospital pharmacy practice in Canada.
 
Dr. Bresee currently serves as Director, Specialty Medicines at the British Columbia Ministry of Health and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. Her career includes senior roles in government and health technology assessment, notably nearly a decade as a Scientific Advisor at the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (now Canada’s Drug Agency).
 
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Bresee has an extensive peer reviewed publication record across pharmacoepidemiology, health services research, and hospital pharmacy practice, including multiple contributions to CJHP. She has also demonstrated sustained leadership within the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP), including service as Chair and Vice Chair of the CSHP Research Committee.
 
Dr. Bresee holds a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology, completed postdoctoral training in pharmacoepidemiology, and is a licensed pharmacist in Canada. She is widely recognized for her commitment to advancing high quality, evidence informed research that supports practice improvement.
 
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Bresee as Editor-in-Chief and look forward to her leadership as CJHP continues to support excellence in hospital pharmacy practice, research, and education.
 
The Canadian Society of Healthcare-Systems Pharmacy also extends our sincere thanks to Dr. Steve Shalansky for his 10 years of outstanding service as Editor-in-Chief of CJHP. During his tenure, Dr. Shalansky strengthened the Journal’s scientific quality, relevance, and reputation within the hospital pharmacy community. We are deeply grateful for his leadership and wish him all the very best in his retirement.
