The Canadian Society of Healthcare-Systems Pharmacy (CSHP) Nova Scotia Branch has lost a beloved member with the passing of Jessica Lynn Sellers (née Killen), BScPharm, ACPR on November 14, 2025.
Jessica was a committed pharmacist, trusted leader, and very active volunteer in CSHP. She first joined the organization as a student in 2013 and was the first CSHP-NS Student Mentee, a position that was in fact created for her because she was so enthusiastic about becoming a pharmacist. Jessica received the CSHP-NS Student Scholarship prior to graduating in 2016. She completed a hospital residency in Red Deer, Alberta in 2017 where she also served as branch treasurer. In September 2019, Jessica returned to Nova Scotia where she devoted her career to Emergency Medicine, becoming Pharmacist Team Lead in September 2023. Jessica volunteered as branch treasurer once again in 2020, this time for CSHP-NS. Jessica was instrumental in organizing the branch’s finances and ensuring as many awards, grants, and other resources as possible were administered to members. For her invaluable contributions, Jessica received the Brian Tuttle Excellence in Hospital Pharmacy Award in 2025. Jessica was also in the process of completing her PharmD through the University of Alberta – all while working full time, getting married and expecting her first child.
Outside of work, Jessica loved golfing, rock climbing, and spending time with her family at the lake. We are holding her friends and family in our thoughts during this impossible time, especially her husband, Justin, and baby, Chloe. Jessica was truly an amazing pharmacist, teacher, leader, friend, daughter, sister, wife, and mother who was intelligent, organized, open-minded, thoughtful, and kind-hearted. She formed lasting relationships with everyone she encountered, and her passing leaves an immense void in our world. We will deeply miss her.
